Mark was a commissioned officer in the Barbados Defence Force from 1982-1987. He is a graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and theRoyal School of Military Engineering. He distinguished himself at Sandhurst by gaining the prestigious award of “Baton of Honour” which is awarded to the best overseas student of the intake. In so doing, he became the second Barbadian to have gained the award, following Brigadier Rudyard Lewis.

He is a Certified Management Accountant with the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario and a Certified Chartered Secretary with the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Canada. Mr. Burton has made a significant contribution to the local manufacturing, wholesale, retail, private security and import distribution sectors; as well as in the international business sector.

Derek Durant brings over 25 years of experience in security operations, customer service, and business development across the telecommunications, pharmaceutical, and private security sectors. He spent 10 years leading the Cash Services Department at G4S Secure Solutions, overseeing Cash-in-Transit and Banking Support Services, managing staffing and performance, improving operational KPIs, and ensuring high-quality, secure service delivery for major financial clients.
